Laura & Ben were married at Bidja Estate in Ourimbah, Central Coast. Here’s what they had to say about their big day.
How did you meet? We met at mutual friend's Birthday BBQ (that turned into a late night out!) We chatted the whole time and the rest is history.
What was the first thing you decided on as a couple when arranging your big day? That we wanted to be as intimate and authentic as possible.
What wedding vibe were you after? Relaxed but sophisticated and FUN.
How did you choose your outfits? A bit of good old online inspo and a 'gut' feeling when it came to trying them on.
How did you decide on your venue? As soon as we drove down the driveway to Bidja Estate we knew it was the place for us. A friend of ours got married there years ago and it matched the vibe we were after.
What was the most stressful part of the planning process? The moments of overwhelm when the list of things to do got longer and longer. As well as budgeting..
What was the best thing you did to make your wedding easier? We decided to get a wedding day coordinated (Alicia at Memory Lane Wedding and Events)
Lots of people get nervous before their wedding, did you? Of course! But mostly excited and accepting of the things we couldn't control.
Who was your stand out vendor? That's impossible to answer! All our vendors were important and so so valued!
Is there anything that you would change about your day? The only thing we would change is that we wish our grazing board was larger; not a biggy but it was demolished very quickly.
Did anything go wrong on your day? Thankfully nothing major! Our bridal entrance song that was played was wrong but it was still a fun option. We just had to laugh it off
What was the funniest part of your day? Very hard to narrow down! But probably dancing the night away with all of our favourite people.
Have you got any advise for a couple planning their wedding? DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE TWO OF YOU!! There are always opinions and advice on offer but only you know what your perfect day looks like. It's not about anyone else but the two of you.
How has life changed since you got married? It has! Our relationship is the same but we have bought a unit and got a puppy. A very testing first year of marriage!
